The sty is full of shit

Actually, the sty (the forums) are dead. I signed up for a free forum software thingy, that they host themselves, but they delete them if there is no activity for a certain amount of time. Seems people had trouble logging in, participating, etc..

I will look soon for another alternative.

New episode soon...

News about nothing

Hey, just an update folks.

Seems we're taking a little vacation for a few weeks? months?
Lots of life changes going on with all three of us, and (God forbid!) beer just aint our priority right now.

It has been great fun for the last eight months, but we need a little break for a while.
There will be one more brewcast in the near future that is already fermenting but still needs to be bottled, and "Eating beer" is cooked, just waiting for a new hosting site. Joel may also get bored and make a new promo here and there, but we hope to relaunch in full force early next year.

Meanwhile, look for us on the forums (The Sty) and see ya soon.

Feedback Please: Don't be shy.

Turns out we're kinda popular...

For some bizzare reason we are in the top twenty on iTunes in our niche podcasts/arts/food main category. Number 17 to be exact. Our HomeBrew BeerCast has actually risen since being removed from the "new and notable" section of the podcast main page. We are also in the top twenty five in our second genre: games and hobbies/hobbies, (iTunes and other podcast agragators allow three genres to be chosen) a few notches below the well established "Basic Brewing" videocast, and above the "Basic Brewing" audiocast. This is pretty damn impressive since we have done nothing to promote the podcast, and folks are more likely to subscribe to audio than video. Our third category, comedy, (everyone thinks they are funny, so they all choose that as one of their choices, and it is a huuuuuge list) we are actually in the top ten percent.

We haven't spammed the various beer sites or beer forums, and we haven't done any nasty google manipulating tricks, or anything of the sort. We have simply added our feed to iTunes, PodcastAlley, and a couple of other sites. And put up a website.

This brings me to the meat of the matter.

Who are you folks? How did you find us? Did you subscribe?

And most importantly, Do you enjoy our little show?
What sucks, and what can we do better?
What do you like, and what would you rather not see in future episodes?
Please give feedback, either in the comments, or to me, (Joel, the video guy) at:

jpickar2 (at) rochester.rr.com
(email slightly and obvioulsly modified to avoid spambots.)

Also, it would be really cool if you posted comment on our iTunes page, good, bad or (preferably) constructive:
this link should take you there: maybe, if blogger.com automakes link code; (nope. It doesn't. ) You will need to copy/paste:

We really want to make a podcast (or two, three... ) that you enjoy, so let us know what to change or keep...

Thank you so much for watching. It makes me almost as warm and fuzzy inside as a really good Turbo Hog (X)PA.

Joel

PS: Look for our spinoff vidcast "Eating Beer" coming very, very soon.

You know you're a homebrewer if...

From Tastybrew.com/humor

Some of my faves, or appropriate to Swillburg:

If you refuse to pay $8.00 for a beer in a restaurant because you can make 5 gallons for that much.

If you hate to wash the family dishes, but think nothing about standing over a sink for hours cleaning empty bottles.

If you have 45 gallons of bottled beer in the basement and wonder if you should double the batch you are brewing on Saturday.

If you hear someone say "sock hop" and you think they're dyslexic.

If you've ever used a mop on a ceiling.
